A Prayer of Protection for Children Trick-or-Treating

Dear God,

Many families will be going out trick-or-treating this evening. We pray for your protection over each and every child and parent who will be going out tonight. Watch over them as they walk around and cross streets, as they knock on doors and meet new people. May you be with them and guide them. We pray that each one will return safely to their homes and families.

In Jesus’ name we pray, amen.

He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

A Prayer for Rain During a Drought

Dear Lord,

I come to you, Lord, asking for rain. The region has gone without rain for some time, and it’s hurting the local economy. The fields are struggling without enough water. If it doesn’t rain soon, the crops will die.

Lord, you are the one who commands the weather. Today, Lord, we are asking that you speak to the clouds. Make them overflow, that they may open over the areas that need it most. Restore the ground, which is thirsty.

In Jesus’ name, we pray and ask, Amen.

A Prayer for Stress Over Work Deadlines

Dear Lord,

I was so eager to get this position at work, and it’s been a blessing in many ways. However, Lord, I had no idea how much work it would be or how much pressure I’d be under. There are more deadlines than I can possibly make. My stress levels are through the roof. 

Lord, you know how much I need this job. Help me release this stress and focus on the tasks I need to get done. Help me get through this workload.

A Prayer for Protection from a Coming Storm

Precious Lord Jesus,
We are lifting up those who are in harm’s way. You know the storm that is approaching, and we pray for those who are in the path of that storm. Lord, we pray for protection over every man, woman, and child in the affected areas, as well as those attempting to evacuate. Lord, we pray you will lessen the effects of the storm on those who love you, that it may serve as a testimony of your great love for them.

A Celebration of the Fourth of July

Dear Heavenly Father,
We thank you for this day, and for the chance to gather here and celebrate this Fourth of July. As we celebrate today, we ask that you watch over us. Keep us, and those around us, safe while we enjoy the fireworks this evening. Let it be a wonderful time together to celebrate our freedom!

A Prayer for Rain During the Dry Season

Dear Lord,
It’s been dangerously dry here and we desperately need some rain. Lord, we pray that You will open the heavens above us and allow the rain to fall. The animals are thirsty,  the plants, especially our grass, also need their water. We are praying that You will supply those needs. We pray, Lord, that as you send forth the rain, that all needs will be met.
Lord, we ask these things, knowing you love us and hear our prayers, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Then I will send rain on your land in its season, both autumn and spring rains, so that you may gather in your grain, new wine and olive oil.
