A Prayer Over the Power of the Tongue

Precious Lord Jesus,

Help me to keep my words kind, to not hurt or offend others. We are to be holy as You are holy. We are not to speak any unclean thing from our mouths.

Help us to be gracious and kind in the words we use, so no one is hurt, but that they may be words to embrace them and to encourage them. Cleanse our tongues, Lord.

Help us to raise our children in the same way, where they speak words of kindness and love, words that are pleasing before you. May the words we speak bring life, and not death.

This I ask in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
