A Prayer for Deliverance from Smoking

Dear Lord,

Lord, you know how many times I’ve tried to quit smoking, and yet, here I am, struggling again to quit. I never thought one cigarette would turn into an addiction. Lord, I know I have to quit before I start dealing with even more issues. Thank you, Lord, for being with me. I know I can do this with your help. Help me to leave this habit in the past.

Lord, please hear my prayer. Amen.

No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

A Prayer for Healing After Years of Smoking

Dear Lord,
I have a good friend who has been smoking for years, and is now dealing with health issues because of it. I know that nothing is impossible for you. Nothing is too large to ask for. With that said, I ask that you heal their body and remove their desire for cigarettes. As their body begins to heal, may they know that you are the One who is restoring them. Give them the strength to quit smoking, once and for all, and place their focus on you. I lay this before you, Lord, please touch them.
